MX Telecom Interactive Voice Response Service

Overview

The MX Telecom Interactive Voice Response Service allows businesses to offer Voice Telephony Audiotex services, including both live and recorded interactive voice services, to the consumer and business markets. It also integrates with the MX Telecom Wireless Gateway, providing the ability to trigger SMS, Location and Multimedia Messaging (MMS) content, whilst charging the end user via their phone bill.

The MX Telecom IVR Service provides businesses with the ability to automate data capture processes for their clients or internal use, reducing the need for call centre operatives. This can be achieved by pointing Non-Geographic Numbers (Local Rate, National Rate and Free-phone numbers) at the IVR System.

Alternatively, MX Telecom can allocate Premium Rate Numbers, which will generate premium revenues for your company. A premium rate number can be chosen which has either a per minute billing rate, a drop charge at the start of the call, or both. Voice Short Codes are currently only available as per minute premium tariffs.

International non-geographic numbers (both premium and non-premium) can also be routed to the MX Telecom IVR Platform.

The web-based IVR platform Menu Builder plugin allows voice and video services to be set up easily and quickly: IVR Menu Builder Plugin

Examples of IVR services include:

  • Java Games, Multimedia Content and Polyphonic Ringtone Delivery
  • Companies wanting to deliver Java Games, JPEG images, GIF Images, Animated GIFs, WAV music files, MIDI music files, MPEG and 3GPP Video files can easily do so as part of an IVR service, which bills the end user for the content. Please also see the MX Telecom Content Management System, CMX2.

  • Recorded Services
  • Companies running recorded services, such as Horoscopes or Racing tips services for example, can upload their recorded content real time into the MX Telecom IVR system.

  • Location Based Services
  • Companies running Location Based Services can use the MX Telecom IVR service to capture and deliver real time end user requests for Location specific information.

  • Live Competitions/Votes
  • Companies running live competitions can accept answers via a premium ratevoice number, and generate revenues from callers. The results of the competition can be combined with votes collected by Reverse Billing SMS.

  • Ringtone and Logo Service
  • Companies wanting to deliver Operator Logos, Group Graphics, Picture Messages or Ringtones to customers can do so easily, without any infrastructure requirements whatsoever. Please also see the MX Telecom Content Management System

  • Live Interactive Voice Services
  • A customer dials a Premium Rate number or Voice Short Code, and is put through to a live call centre/chat system. Throughout the duration of the call, a revenue share is generated. Please Contact Us for more details

  • Number Routing
  • Number routing can also be set up for each service, forwarding calls to a different number.

The IVR Service includes a comprehensive statistical package, allowing a wide range of different statistics relating to each specific service to be viewed.

The IVR system is also integrated with:

  • The MX Telecom Content Management System, allowing the delivery of Multimedia and SMS Content, and also voting and competitions.

  • The MX Telecom Location Gateway, allowing for the delivery and authentication for Location Based Content.

  • The MX Telecom SMS Server for triggering SMS delivery.

  • The MX Telecom Reverse Billing SMS Service, allowing billing to be performed by SMS rather than through Premium Rate Numbers.

  • The MX Telecom MMS Gateway, allowing for the delivery of multimedia content.

End users can therefore opt in to a Location Service or a Reverse Billed SMS service by calling the IVR Platform.

Menu Builder Plugin

The web interface to MX Telecom's IVR platform includes a menu builder plugin, allowing voice and video services to be set up or edited online in real-time.

Services that can be set up using the menu builder are typically tree-structured with a root menu with numeric button-press (DTMF) options for viewing a live stream, viewing pre-recorded content or recording a video or voice clip. The menu builder plugin allows tree-structured call flows to be built up, with support for the most common operations at each point in the flow.

Menu Operations supported include:

  • Play a single item of media
  • Play a list of media items
  • Play a live stream (one-to-many live stream broadcasting)
  • Record a video clip (with confirmation prompts as required)
  • Select a menu option using DTMF
  • Conference the user to an endpoint (one-to-one bi-directional live streaming)
  • Interrupt current playback/conference to return to the root menu or previous menu

Service menu trees can be built and edited very quickly and easily via a user-friendly web interface:

The following menu provides an easy way to set up the operations to be carried out at each point in the call flow (such as 'Play a file' or 'Make a recording' etc). The numeric button-press (DTMF) option to trigger each operation can also be selected:

If the service provider requires specific features or functionality to be added to the IVR Platform beyond those described above, MX Telecom will provide a quote for access to such features on a case by case basis. Depending on the complexity of providing the requested functionality, a set-up fee may apply.

Account Setup

To set up an IVR Service, MX Telecom suggests sending the full details of the proposed service, including a call flow script, before recording any audio files. MX Telecom can recommend audio recording companies if required.

At any time these voice prompts can be uploaded to the MX Telecom IVR system via the Internet using a fully web-based interface. This can also be used to regularly update the content for a particular IVR Service.

MX Telecom will implement the IVR call flow to meet your requirements, including, where necessary, services that require transactions with external data feeds. Please Contact Us for more details.

The MX Telecom IVR Service also includes access to a full live online billing system that displays information on system usage statistics.

IVR Service Pricing

The service charge is 100 GBP per month with a 0.03 GBP per minute fee (based upon per second billing). Depending on the complexity of the service, a set up fee may apply. Lead times are usually 5 - 10 working days.
